For avocado lovers: a hit, Bonsai fans should steer clear So today I am happy to report that my avocado bonsai timelapse project is officially 1- year old! Outdoors, though, where it has acted as my garden sidekick since then, the plant jewel is a whole different story: by now it′s explosively grown and still looks fantastic.

A year later, I cut both stems back and tried a different shape. I am also in the process of creating a new base and plants for this one! So, you can all look forward to the next timelapse update where finally my garden should begin to thrive.

Why an Avocado Bonsai?

Trying an avocado bonsai is a way to have your cake and eat it, too combining the pleasure of gardening with the magic of this art form. Also you can watch the impressive growth and evolution of the plants up front in my timelapse videos.

Time Lapse and the Latest Plants

After this, in my project I will have to create new plants from a lower level. Not only will these look great, but also help aid the health and growth of my avocado bonsai. So do keep watching this space for such more timelapses, gardening advise and tips.

Bonsai Avocado Tree Growing Conditions

In order to grow the best avo bonsai, there are a few factors that you need to have on lock. For example, use a potting medium for the substrate; cactus mix mixed with perlite is good at keeping away from water logging. The heat requirements of the Avocado plants are from 15°C to 29C or somewhere in the range of 60°F to 85F. Also, make sure your bonsai tree get enough light (5-6 hours of full sun every day). For watering, keep the soil evenly moist but not wet; water deeply when the top inch of soil is dry to the touch. Frequent misting might also help to keep the humidity levels surrounding the plant.
